Yang & Co is a 40 seater restaurant and bar located in Castlecrag, New South Wales. We specialise in what we call "Australian Asian" cuisine, that is, Modern Asian food using local and sustainable produce, and we cook in ways that brings back memories of the myriad of Asian flavours we grew up eating in Australia. We cook seasonally, and we always have daily specials to reflect them - follow our Instagram to see our unique and exciting creations. 

We work closely with local artisans who hold an identical culinary ethos of sustainable quality and excellence; meat from our butchers at Castlecrag Meats (Ex-Becasse and Hudson Meats), the freshest seafood from Cleanfish Australia to freshly baked breads and pastries from our neighbourhood bakery, Ganache Patisserie.  

Our Wines and Spirit list is curated by Ben from MOREISH WINES, also a Castlecrag local, who has fashioned a drinks menu that is predominantly Australian to elevate your dining experience at Yang & Co. 


Chef/Owner Lex Wong grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He discovered his love for Asian cookery during his apprenticeship at China Doll, Woolloomooloo under celebrated Executive Chef Frank Shek, and then advanced his culinary skill set working in Canada and the United States for two years. Lex returned to Sydney in 2012 to help launch and head chef the Mexican cantina, Chica Bonita at the Corso, Manly, and then in 2014 headed the stoves of Jamaican restaurant, Queenie's in Surry Hills. In 2015 Lex started his award-winning Yang's Malaysian Food Truck (Time Out Best Food Truck 2015), his modern take on the Malaysian street-food dishes of his childhood. The success and popularity of his food truck spurred him to embark on his next culinary venture, Yang & Co, a creative culmination of his love for food, cooking expertise and gourmet travels.
